Visiting the sick

Hadith of the day

Narrated Umm al-Ala : The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) visited me while I was sick. He said: Be glad, Umm al-Ala' for Allah removes the sins of a Muslim for his illness as fire removes the dross of gold and silver.

[Abu Dawud 3092, authenticated by shaykh Al-Albaanee]

Visiting the sick holds great significance in Islam, and it is considered a virtuous act that strengthens community bonds and provides comfort to the ill. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized this in many hadiths. One such hadith states:

"When a Muslim visits his (sick) brother in the morning, seventy thousand angels pray for him until the evening, and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels pray for him until the morning, and he will have a garden in Paradise."
— (Jami' at-Tirmidhi, 969)

Visiting the sick is not only an act of kindness but also a way to earn immense reward from Allah.
