Be merciful to your kids

Being kind and merciful to your kids is one the easiest Sunnah to follow. Deal with them with love, kindness and respect.

Forgive your enemies

The Prophet's (peace be upon him) own people plotted to kill him. They exiled him from Mecca, tortured and killed his followers, spread false rumors about him, and did their absolute best to end his life and message. Despite all of this, he forgave these people. 

So must we!

Want for people what you want for yourself

The Prophet, peace, and blessings be upon him, said

“The servant does not attain the reality of faith until he loves for people what he loves for himself of goodness.”

Entering the washroom.....say Bismillah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, to put a barrier that will prevent the jinn from seeing the ‘awrah of the sons of Adam, let any one of you say ‘Bismillah’ when entering the toilet.

Help with household chores

The Prophet (peace be upon him) lived in a time when men considered themselves superior to women. Aisha explains that he used to milk the goats, mend his sandals, and patch his own clothes. When she was asked, “What did the Prophet use to do in his house?” Aisha replied, “He used to keep himself busy serving his family, and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it.”

Show Affection towards your children

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) kissed Al-Hasan ibn `Ali while Al-Aqra` ibn Habis At-Tamimi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra` said, “I have ten children and have never kissed one of them.” The Prophet cast a look at him and said, “Whoever is not merciful to others will not be treated mercifully.”

Your bonds with people are more precious than your ego. Be the first to mend your ties if they are severed

Be Kind To Animals

The Prophet (peace be upon him) never stood for animal cruelty. He never enjoyed chasing or hunting them down. Before you scare away a bird or throw a stone at street dogs, stop and ask yourself whose Sunnah are you following?

Keep Your Promise

The Prophet (peace be upon him), said, “When you judge, then be just. When you make a covenant, then keep it. When your mercy is sought, then be merciful. Whoever does not do any of that, the curse of Allah, His angels, and all people will be upon him.”

Humble youself

The Prophet (peace be upon him) was given the choice to be a king prophet or a slave prophet. He chose the latter. If you were given the choice, what would you choose?

Praise Allah after Eating

What do you do after finishing a meal? Most of us will burp and move on with the rest of our day after we finish our food. However, the sunnah is to praise Allah after finishing a meal. Let’s revive this beautiful Sunnah!

Early to bed, early to rise

Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “If it were not that it would be difficult on my nation then I would have ordered them to use the Siwak for each prayer” (Tirmidhi)

Be Kind and Gentle

Kindness lies at the heart of Islam. Be kind to your neighbors, to your family, to your friends, to the animals you see. Kindness beautifies your character. It beautifies everything you do.

Visit the Sick

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "Every Muslim has five rights over another Muslim (i.e., he has to perform five duties for another Muslim): to return the greetings, to visit the sick, to accompany funeral processions, to accept an invitation, to respond to the sneezer [i.e., to say: 'Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah bestow His Mercy on you),' when the sneezer praises Allah]."

Rinse the mouth after drinking milk

Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) drank milk, rinsed his mouth, and said, "It has fat."‬‬
