Messenger of Allah (ﷺ),
"Wealth does not diminish by giving Sadaqah (charity). Allah augments the honour of one who forgives; and one who serves another seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will exalt him in ranks."
[Muslim, riyad as-salihin 566]
This hadith from Sahih Muslim emphasizes the profound benefits of charity, forgiveness, and selfless service. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) assures that wealth is not decreased by giving charity (Sadaqah); in fact, it leads to greater blessings and barakah. This reflects the Islamic belief that acts of generosity bring spiritual and often material reward from Allah.
Furthermore, the hadith highlights that forgiveness leads to an increase in honor and dignity, while serving others for the sake of Allah elevates a person’s rank in His sight. These acts foster a sense of humility, compassion, and selflessness, which are highly valued in Islam. This narration encourages believers to prioritize these qualities, trusting that Allah rewards such deeds in both this life and the Hereafter.
