Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said,
"For every prophet there is one (special invocation (that will not be rejected) with which he appeals (to Allah), and I want to keep such an invocation for interceding for my followers in the Hereafter."
(Sahib al-Bukhari 6304)
This hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari highlights the deep compassion and concern the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had for his followers. Every prophet was given a special invocation (du'a) that Allah promised would be answered. While other prophets may have used theirs during their lifetimes, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) chose to reserve his for the Day of Judgment, intending to use it to intercede for his followers.
This demonstrates the Prophet's selflessness and his priority for the well-being of his ummah (followers) in the Hereafter. It is a reflection of his mercy and the unique status of his intercession, known as Shafa'ah, which will be a source of hope and salvation for many believers on the Day of Judgment.
