The Prophet (ﷺ) said
"Anybody who believes in Allah and the Last Day should not harm his neighbor,
Sahih al-Bukhari 6018
This is a powerful teaching from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasizing the importance of good conduct towards one's neighbors. It highlights that faith in Allah and the Last Day (Akhirah) is closely tied to how we treat others, particularly those who live near us.
In Roman transliteration, the Arabic of this hadith is often conveyed as:
> Man kāna yu'minu billāhi wa-l-yawm al-ākhir fa-lā yu'ḍi jārahu.
It stresses that being a good neighbor is not just a social virtue but also a reflection of one's faith. This teaching encourages Muslims to embody kindness, compassion, and respect in their daily lives.
