Marriage

The saying "When a man marries, he has fulfilled half of the religion; so let him fear God regarding the remaining half" is attributed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It highlights the importance of marriage in Islam as a fundamental aspect of life and faith. Marriage is seen as a way to preserve one’s morality and engage in a committed relationship that fulfills both emotional and spiritual responsibilities.

By stating that marriage completes "half of the religion," it emphasizes how central a healthy, loving marital relationship is to one's faith. The second part, "let him fear God regarding the remaining half," serves as a reminder that while marriage addresses many spiritual obligations, there are still other aspects of the faith, such as personal worship, ethics, and social responsibilities, that must also be observed with sincerity and devotion. This teaches balance between one's duties toward their spouse and their other religious obligations.
