We often see children as young as four being enthusiastic about fasting. But we shun their enthusiasm saying that they are still too young. As a result, they feel dejected and start seeing Ramadan as something that is not for them. Don’t kill your child’s enthusiasm. Instead, encourage them to eat Suhoor and Iftar meals with you. To pray and make du’a (supplication) with you. If you tell them they can’t do it, they’ll never be confident enough to do so.
